Daimler to introduce electric scooter


Automaker Daimler plans to enter the electric scooter market with a latest prototype expected at the Paris Auto Show in September.

According to a report in British website Auto car, the German manufacturer will unveil a latest electric scooter under the company’s Smart brand.

The Daimler Corporation, which owns Mercedes-Benz, Maybach and elegant, lately entered a partnership with energy supplier EnBW to ascertain charging stations in Stuttgart, Germany, providing an infrastructure for electric vehicles. The project was initially slated to support 200 Smart and Mercedes-Benz cars, but Auto car reports the project will also support 500 electric scooters, with field testing of the fresh Smart scooters to begin within the next year.
