A Fort Worth police officer remains hospitalized today in grave condition after he crashed during a highway chase.
Officer Richard Lambing, 37, suffered head injuries Thursday afternoon in the accident on Interstate 30, close to the Loop 820 interchange.
Lambing was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with life-threatening injury, police said. Doctors say he showed improvement later than surgery and was transferred to the intensive-care unit.
We are relieved that Officer Lambing is showing promising signs of potential upturn, Police Chief Jeffrey Halstead said today in a written statement.
